Halloween Dress Up Ideas: Who to be this Halloween

This season is the most ideal time to get out there and be someone you’re not- even if that someone (or something) is make-believe! Halloween dress up ideas are often hard to come by so here are some pointers for you:

Although the history behind dressing up as all kinds of ghouls or specters is quite hazy, an old superstition believed by the Celts states that on All Hallows’ Eve, the ghosts of the dead mingles with the living and possesses the latter. To be protected from this, one has to look like the ghosts and go around town making a loud racket to frighten the spirits away. There are other versions, of course, but few are aware of how it came to be. Who can blame them, though? For most, dressing up on Halloween is just immensely entertaining!

Since the birth of mass media, hundreds of movie, cartoon and TV characters can be the basis of interest for Halloween Dress Up ideas. Some people decide to be things like rockets or pancakes while a few intellectuals make abstract ideas tangible through their costumes. Young boys would probably choose their favorite superhero like Batman and Superman while their counterparts, cute girls would go for Disney princesses like Belle from Beauty and the Beast or Sleeping Beauty .

Some actually prefer the tried and true traditional options, say, the ‘wild wild west’ outfits or sexy vampires and  cute devils‘  look.

Despite the very wide selection of costumes, this year’s Halloween would not be interesting if one does not see something new around. Great dress up ideas abound as long as you have an original and creative head- and if you are very observant.

Do you want to be fiery hot this autumn? Recently, an MTV show entitled ‘Jersey Shores’ have generated such buzz due to the casts’ controversial exploits. One character, Snooki, was very much in the public eye that it could just be a great choice for Halloween. Grab the skimpiest outfit you have (preferably in fuchsia) and a pair of platform sandals. All you need is the poof wig and you’re all set! Believe it or not, Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan are also good celebrity choices if you were up to it.

Avatar was a much-talked-about movie so  Jake Sully and  Neytiri would both make great Halloween Costume Ideas.

You may get confused as to which Halloween Dress Up Ideas to pick. One suggestion when you’re on the brink of not attending any parties anymore is to choose the ‘skin’ which you’re most comfortable in. Have fun!
