Odd, isn’t it, to see the words Vampire Teeth on the written page? We are generally more accustomed to seeing the phrase ‘Vampire Fangs’ in common usage but there is much discussion as to whether vampires actually have fangs…..or just teeth.
If you fancy your own pair of vampire teeth, you can find a great selection to buy here: Vampire Fangs.
Maybe the difference isn’t so very important as Halloween approaches, as those revellers wishing to dress up in their vampire Halloween costumes probably couldn’t care less. No vampire outfit would be complete without the customary set of pointed fangs and maybe a little fake blood dripping from their sharp and pointy ends…
But if you fancy having a few fang-related facts to hand as you mingle with all the Halloween ghouls, witches, devils and zombies, here are a couple that will amaze and astound your audience:
Although references to vampires can be found as long ago as 1000 years or so, it isn’t unitil the 18th Century that belief in these creatures became widespread.
It was popularly believed that vampires fed on blood – animal or human – but vampires only had human teeth, not fangs.
In fact, much time and effort was spent in trying to identify real life vampires – and killing them – and a check list of sorts was drawn up. Vampires were of bloated & ruddy appearance, little sign of decomposition after ‘death’, blood around their mouths and death of cattle in the locality. No mention of sharp, pointed fangs anywhere!
It really wasn’t until Bram Stoker wrote his famous story – Dracula, that fangs began to be associated with vampires. Nowadays, no vampire worth the name can be seen without a good set of gnashers and you can find a fabulously ‘fangtastic’ selection to choose from for your vampire fancy dress costume right here: Vampire Teeth.
